Rory McCrea has worked in the NHS as a GP since 1992. He spent years developing nurse practitioner training and was one of the first doctors to bring healthcare assistants into primary care.
He’s also been heavily involved in NHS policy as a former PET Chair and Medical Director of Epping Forest Primary Care Trust and former Medical Director of West Essex Primary Care Trust. He was a member of the Department of Health’s Workforce Taskforce involved in the NHS Plan. Rory works part-time as an NHS GP at his practice in Waltham Abbey
Sarah has spent her life working in, and with, the NHS. First as a registered nurse and a health visitor and then in NHS management. In the early 1990s she introduced the first Hospital at Home Scheme when working for South Bedfordshire Community Healthcare Trust. With an MBA under her belt she became a director of Caremark (now Clinovia). Moving into consultancy she worked for Macmillan Cancer Relief, the Mount Vernon Cancer Network and North Essex Health Authority.
Sarah’s ground-breaking work included the introduction of the first systems of clinical assessment of the performance of GPs and the implementation of homecare services in a vast array of clinical areas previously untouched by such policy. Sarah has spent her career finding and implementing innovative ways of delivering services in community and home settings.
Sarah and Rory are always keen to discuss ChilversMcCrea and what they do.
