Chilvers McCrea

History

The National Health Service was founded on the principle that everyone, regardless of wealth, should have access to free, high-quality heath care. Despite real progress too many patients struggle to access the care and service they deserve. This failure can be particularly acute in some of the country’s poorest neighbourhoods – communities with more than their share of health problems.

ChilversMcCrea was set up to help put this right. Rory McCrea and Sarah Chilvers brought wide experience of the NHS and a strong commitment to its principles when they took over a poorly performing family doctor practice in 2003. Their success in turning it round saw them take over other practices across the country to become the largest alternative provider of primary care services.

From the start ChilversMcCrea recognised the importance of providing personalised and responsive care. The public rightly expect the same control over health care that they now have over other services. The challenge of meeting these rising expectations through innovation and empowering patients is at the heart of ChilversMcCrea’s vision for modern healthcare provision.
